"This is a really enjoyable book. It has an interesting plot, well-done characters, and just enough humor to to add some sparkle to the drama. There are moments for laughter and for tears. I look forward to reading more from this author." -- Amazon reviewer

Reece Rutherford's brain can't process what her eyes are seeing. A full moon shines on a boy whose body is contorting and changing, sprouting fur and growing fangs. She's seen it in movies. Movies aren't real life. But then the werewolf charges her. He pins her against her SUV, his paw pressing against her chest, and she knows she's doomed until a winged man appears, as if from the sky, to save her. From that point on, her life is forever changed. The bloody scratches heal and a blood-red tattoo, in the shape of a hexagram, blazes in the flesh near her heart, revealing that she is a witch whose powers have just awakened.

Faced with a community of rogue werewolves who'd like her out of their way, a set of powers she never previously knew she had, and a brother and sister to keep safe from literal monsters--as well as their abusive step-father sleeping in the next room--Reece isn't sure her usual self-sufficiency will be enough to pull her through. Fortunately she has Damian, a stoic but sexy guardian who can help her take on her enemies and win. And maybe together they can learn that there's no point going through everything alone.

A Family Affair: Truth in Lies, Book 1, by Mary Campisi. (Still free?)

"Masterful! In A Family Affair, we watch Christine, a successful lawyer who feels compelled to confront her late father's mistress, a woman she is prepared to loathe. Instead, what she finds in Magdalena turns her well-ordered life upside down. Campisi's use of contrast in both characterization and plot creates a wonderful tension that is nothing short of masterful." -- Amazon reviewer

When Christine Blacksworth's larger-than-life father is killed on an icy road in Magdalena, New York, a hundred miles from the 'getaway' cabin he visited every month, she discovers a secret that threatens everything she's always held to be true. Her father has another family which includes a mistress and a daughter.

Determined to uncover the truth behind her father's secret life, Christine heads to Magdalena, prepared to hate the people who have caused her to question everything she thought she knew about her father. But what she finds is a woman who understands her, a half sister who cherishes her, and a man who could love her if she'll let him. The longer she's around them, the more she questions which family is the real one. . .

The Septic Circle, by Lorna Reid. (Still 0.99?)

Save $4 today on a Kindle Countdown Deal for this newly-published humorous book.

As the only sceptic in Cravenly's new and not-very-psychic circle, how many haunted toasters, possessed worry dolls, and sabotaged book signings can one man cope with? Jay Taylor's patience may already be stretched to breaking point, but the odious presence of ego-ridden psychic star, Fenwick Arcana could just push him over the edge.

Having taken the nervous wreck who started this whole mess, Freddy, under his wing, and with gossip-monger Lysander and irrepressible believer Marnie to cope with, the circle's most reluctant member is about to have his sanity severely tested.

Gathered together, their diaries chronicle the circle's first year, as they fight through a minefield of paranormal detritus, smug wizardry, toxic baking, revenge plots, and the filming of disastrously amateur paranormal TV show, Spirit Squad. But through all that, perhaps the biggest battle any of them will face is one another. And the loneliness.

For anyone who ever wondered if it is possible to catch a ghost using marmalade*.

*it isn't.

The Septic Circle is a humorous diary-style book, told from the viewpoints of five members of a ˜not-very-psychic' circle, with each person's diary helping to build up a humorous (or poignant) picture of events.

The book charts the circle members' first year, taking in haunted appliances, sabotaged book signings, and chaotic ghost-hunting TV shows, among other things. While, on the surface, it may seem like humour, the core of the book is the growing relationships and dynamics between the characters. Ultimately, it is a book about loneliness, as much as anything else.

It's a delicious slice of British humour served on a paranormal plate, which will make you laugh, cry, and wonder about the ghost-catching properties of marmalade.

SURVIVING ABE: A Climate-Fiction Novel, by J.Z. O'Brien. (Still 0.99?)

Kindle Countdown Deal: $2 off today!

"Well-crafted thriller! With global climate change and polar vortex a reality, this is a very timely novel. The author takes a new look at how dependent we have all become on instant communication, internet, GPS and all the other modern conveniences and how severe weather can impact our lives. The writing is excellent and the story will draw you in. As the storm intensifies, it places the characters into an increasingly dangerous world. The stories starts slowly, but you are inexorably drawn to the very believable characters and challenges they face." -- Amazon reviewer

When meteorological events align and launch Winter Storm Abe on an unprepared populace, the U.S. struggles during the worst megastorm in its history. As the outside environment deteriorates, a group of radical environmentalists exploit the ongoing natural disaster with an inside cyber attack on software controlling the availability of America's fuel, food, and electrical power.

Societal conditions deteriorate and the U.S. Government is quick to declare martial law, but slow to deliver relief supplies. Only those skilled at survival will weather this one-two punch to the soft underbelly of a technologically dependent civilization.

While elk hunting in Colorado's Rockies, Gus catches on that he is fast becoming snowbound in a high-altitude blizzard. Making his way out of the mountains, Gus encounters critters that help and characters that kill.

Andy, on a cross-country bicycle trek, gets glazed over in an East Texas ice storm. Trapped at a roadside convenience store with the farmer's daughter might be the stuff of dreams, if it didn't include a jealous ex-boyfriend, big-city gangs, and hungry cattle rustlers.

On the Chesapeake Bay, solo sailor Tess, is caught in rapidly changing climates; both meteorological and political. As a female on her own, deadly heat waves and tornadoes aren't the only dangers she has to face, and Abe isn't the only adversarial male to show up on her radar.
